ORDER

Whereas vide order No. 40-3/2020-DM-I(A), dated 24/03/2020, the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India had issued an order under Section 10 (2) (1) of Disaster Management Act, stipulating lockdown measures for containment of COVID-19 in the country.

Whereas the same order was extended vide letter dated 14/04/2020 to remain in force till 3rd May, 2020 all over the country.

Whereas the above lockdown order was extended upto 17/05/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 01/05/2020.

Whereas the above lockdown order has now been extended upto31/08/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 29/07/2020.

Whereas vide order No. Z.28015/19/2020-EMR dated 30/04/2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has included U.T. , Chandigarh in the official list of RED ZONE in the country.

Whereas the Issued of outbreak of COVID-19 in Chandigarh was further studied and examined by a Committee comprising Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police and Director Health Services and a considered view emerged that the following affected zones need to be declared as CONTAINMENT ZONES:-

  1. Block of 13 houses from Houses No. 2403 to 2413 in Mariwala Town, Manimajra, Chandigarh.
  2. Block of 11 houses from House No. 491 to 495 and 501 to 506 in Sector 15, Chandigarh.
  3. Block of 32 flats from House No. 6445 to 6448-C and House No. 6449 to 6452-C in Sector 56, Chandigarh.
  4. Block of 6 houses from House No. 1613 to 1618 (Ground Floors only) in Sector 40, Chandigarh.

The undersigned in my capacity as Chairperson of State Executive Committee of State Disaster Management Authority, UT, Chandigarh also direct that regular screening and monitoring of the areas by medical teams will continue. Frequent sanitization of the areas by Municipal Authorities will be conducted and the residents will be advised to strictly maintain social distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene.

These orders will come into force with immediate effect.
