CONTAINMENT ZONE ORDERS
Whereas vide order No. 40-3/2020-DM-I(A), dated 24.03.2020, the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India had issued an order under Section 10(2)(1) of Disaster Management Act, stipulating lockdown measures for containment of COVID-19 in the country.
Whereas the same order was extended vide letter dated 14.04.2020 to remain in force till 3rd May 2020 all over the country.
Whereas the above lockdown order was extended upto 17.05.2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 01.05.2020.
Whereas the above lockdown order has now been extended upto 31.08.2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 29.07.2020.
Whereas vide order No. Z 28015/19/2020-EMR dated 30.04.2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has included U.T., Chandigarh in the official list of RED ZONE in the country.
Whereas the issue of outbreak of COVID-19 in Chandigarh was further studied and examined by a Committee comprising Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police and Director Health Services and a considered view emerged that the following affected zones need to be declared as CONTAINMENT ZONE for intensive screening, sanitization and medical treatment:-
- Block of 24 houses from H. No. 2778 to 2801 in Sector 40, Chandigarh.
- Block of 23 flats and 01 garage from H. No. 1185 to 1190 (Four Storeyed) in Sector 46, Chandigarh.
Therefore, the undersigned, in his capacity as Chairperson of State executive Committee of State Disaster Management Authority hereby declares the above areas/pockets within the Union Territory of Chandigarh as “CONTAINMENT ZNE” w.e.f. 00.00 hours on 12th of August, 2020.
The stipulations mentioned in Ministry of Home Affairs order dated 29.07.2020 regarding restrictions in Containment Zone will be strictly adhered to
