COVID 19 WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
Chandigarh.7 August,2020:Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services & Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1.Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER stated that they have 121 covid patients, out of which 46 belong to Chandigarh, 47 from Punjab, 09 from Haryana, 06 from Himachal Pradesh, 09 from Uttar Pradesh, 02 from Rajasthan and 01 each from Jharkhand & Bihar. He also stated that they have tested 720 covid samples, out of which 40 belonging to Chandigarh were found positive. Dr. BS Chavan, Director Principal, GMCH stated that they have tested 355 covid samples, out of which 38 were found positive. Among the positive cases, 21 belong to Chandigarh, 12 each from Haryana and Punjab and remaining from other states. He also stated that there are 188 patients in Sood Dharamshala, 54 patients in Dhanwantari College, 41 patients in GMCH and 32 patients in Sector 48, Hospital. Dr. G. Dewan, Director Health Services stated that they have tested 457 samples through Rapid Antigen Testing, out of which 416 were found negative. He also stated that 1,116 houses were screened in Manimajra, covering 4,287 persons. Only 07 persons were found symptomatic and only 01 was found positive after testing.
The Administrator directed all the three chiefs of medical institutions to take greater care of co-morbidities persons and to ensure that the fatalities are kept at the minimum. He also directed PGIMER to start Rapid Antigen Testing, so that large number of persons could be covered in short time.
2.The Administrator directed that dedicated teams could visit in ambulances carrying Antigen Testing Kits to take samples and tests on-the-spot in different areas.
3.Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 445 active cases; whereas in Panchkula there are 357 active cases.
4.Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that private testing laboratories have been permitted by ICMR to start Rapid Antigen Testing, in addition to the regular testing of covid samples.
5.The Administrator passed following orders on congested markets on the basis of the recommendations received from the Committee headed by Finance Secretary to contain spread of infection :-
(a)Odd-even system in following markets will be introduced from 08/08/2020 for next six days :-
i. Krishna Market, Sector 41
ii. Market area near old PNB Bank/Bihari Garment, Burail Chowk
iii. Shastri Market, Sector 22
iv. Patel Market, Sector 15
v. Sector 8 Internal Market
vi. Azad Market, Sector 20
vii. Palace Market, Sector 20
viii. Booth Market, Sector 21
ix. Palika Bazar, Sector 19
x. Sadar Market, Sector 19
xi. Janta Market, Sector 27
(b)The Scooter Repair Market in Sector 43, Chandigarh will remain closed on all Sundays.
(c)The following shops of Mobile Market in Sector 22 will remain closed for next six days :-
• SCO 1010-11- Radha Market
• SCO 1030-31- Attari Market
• SCO 1004- Sweety Market
• SCO 1003-04
6.The above decisions will be reviewed every week. The Sub-Divisional Magistrates will coordinate with Markets Associations for smooth functioning and strict enforcement of the above orders.
7.The weekend closure of Sukhna Lake will continue.
