23rd   April 2020

As per directions of Government of India under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, the Department of Food & Supplies and Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology, U.T. Chandigarh is distributing Food Grains to the registered DBT Food beneficiaries in the scale of 5 kg. wheat per member per month and 1 kg. pulses per family per month for three months i.e., April, May & June, 2020.  The department is distributing this in one round i.e. 15 kg wheat per person and 3 kg pulses per family. This is in addition to the Food Subsidy already released for March & April, 2020.

It is made clear that only the registered DBT beneficiaries, who are receiving food subsidy in their bank accounts, are eligible to receive this benefit under the said scheme. The department will cover the entire city and we will ensure that all the eligible beneficiaries receive ration under PMGKAY.

The beneficiaries are advised to avoid crowding at the distribution centers in their area. Every eligible beneficiary will get ration under PMGKAY scheme. The public at large is requested to cooperate with the department to carry out this distribution smoothly.

For any query or complaint, Consumer Helpline Number 1800-180-2079 is in place. The beneficiaries can also contact the District Food & Supplies Officer (DFSO) for redressal of their grievances, on call number 0172-2703956 or 9417228493.
