ADMINISTRATOR REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS IN THE CITY  : WAR  ROOM  DECISIONS  

Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh, Sh. V P Singh Badnore presided over daily War Room meeting.  The meeting was attended to by the Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida and Sh Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh A K Sinha, Finance Secretary, Yadav, Commissioner, MC, Deputy Commissioner and ShMandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh,  Deputy Commissioner’s of Mohali & Panchkula, Director, PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing. In daily review meetings Video conferencing is done to maintain social distancing . The major decisions taken today are as under :-

WAR ROOM BULLETIN
•    Sh. K.K. Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that a new pass system has been introduced in Wholesale Market Sector 26.  This will reduce the entry of unauthorized people and will help the Market Committee in controlling the crowd.  The Administrator directed him to explore the possibility of permanent shifting of a few wholesalers to Sector 39 Grain Market by providing additional infrastructure.

•    Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated that 56,990 cooked food packets have been distributed among the destitutes and the needy people in various parts of the city.  NGOs/ Self Help Groups and Political Parties are all contributing in the efforts. He further informed that Congress Party has donated 250 PPEs and 1,000 masks, which have been sent to GMSH-16 Hospital. He also stated that curfew implementation needs to be strengthened in the city and violators strictly punished. The Administrator directed the Director General of Police to do the needful. 

•    Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police stated that a mechanism is being developed to streamline impounding and releasing of vehicles, which have been detained under curfew.

•    Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that as directed by the Central Government, efforts are being made to ensure use of Aarogya Setu Mobile Application by all citizens.  He also stated that it will be mandatory for all government officials to download the application.

•    Sh. VP Singh Badnore who attended the video conferencing with Hon’ble Prime Minister today stated that It is heartening to know that Chandigarh has fared well in the first phase of curfew. The curfew in Chandigarh will continue as long as the lockdown in the country continues.  The Administrator directed the Adviser Sh. Manoj Parida to formulate a scheme for utilizing the services of idle workers in the second phase of curfew.  He also directed that as desired by Hon’ble Prime Minister, the farmers going for harvesting and marketing of their produces should be facilitated during the curfew.  

•    The Administrator directed Education Department to devise a mechanism, through which 40 book stores of Chandigarh could arrange home delivery of books to the students during the long curfew period.  As desired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. VP Singh Badnore directed the Adviser to ensure that all students from North-east, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir should be taken care in the city.  A designated officer should look into their needs and caters to their essential requirements. The Administrator also launched a new mobile application developed by IT Department of Chandigarh to track quarantine corona patients.  He appealed to the Chandigarh residents to cooperate with the medical survey team, which is going from house to house to screen the residents.
