ADMINISTRATOR REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS IN THE CITY    :    WAR  ROOM  DECISIONS  

Chandigarh.6th April,2020: Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh, Sh. V P Singh Badnore presided over daily War Room meeting.  The meeting was attended to by the Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida, Sh Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh A K Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police, , Commissioner, MC, Deputy Commissioner. The Administrator also interacted with Deputy Commissioner’s of Mohali & Panchkula, Director, PHIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing. In daily review meetings Video conferencing is done to maintain social distancing . The major decisions taken today are as under :-

WAR ROOM BULLETIN
•    Sh. K.K. Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that sanitization of  Sector 26 Wholesale Market was successfully undertaken today.  Apart from Manual Cleaning, Mechanical Sweeping and Spray of Disinfectant through fire brigade and police water canon was done.  The field officials on duty were also sensitized towards cleanliness and hygiene.  He informed that door-to-door delivery of groceries and vegetables is going on smoothly.

•    Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated that he held an all party meeting with representatives of all political parties today.  Their suggestions regarding distribution of food, relief operations, curfew enforcement etc. have been noted.  The representatives expressed full support to the Administration in implementing the curfew guidelines.  He also informed that 55,630 cooked food packets were distributed among the destitutes in various parts of the city yesterday.  

•    Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary stated that  necessary arrangements for payment of wages to labour and salary to government employees have been made.  The mobile ATM Vans were serving the people in various sectors.

•    Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police, stated that  a larger number of vehicles have been seized that were violating the curfew guidelines. The Administrator directed him to take more actions on fake news in social media.  

•    Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Health stated that there has been no increase in the number of positive cases.  He also stated that necessary facilities for accommodating doctors and other health staff in Hotel Parkview and Panchayat Bhavan have been put in place.  He further stated that ban orders on sale of chewing gum/ Bubble gum / panmasalas and other allied products has been imposed in UT for three months to prevent the spread of infection.  

•    Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that an amount of Rs.5 crore has been received from Central Government towards Disaster Response Funds.  He also stated that the Union Government has allocated 1376 MTs of wheat per month for distribution among the beneficiaries.

•    The Administrator expressed his happiness regarding the arrangements being made and requested the officials to be on the alert.  He thanked the doctors for continuous recovery of affected patients.
